KIA Motors participated in the Mondial de l'Automobile, one of the foremost motor shows of the world, with its all-new and upgraded models. Alongside premiering its new Rio, KIA also unveiled the upgraded versions of its Soul and Carens models.

World premiere for all-new KIA Rio
KIA’s global best-selling model has sold more than 473,000 vehicles around the world in 2015, accounting for 16% of the brand’s annual sales. This fourth generation of Rio offers B-segment buyers an attractive package. The new Rio is designed to appeal to more people than ever, with higher desirability and increased driving pleasure. The new version offers the most advanced safety features in its class.

An innovative design approach has defined the new Rio’s distinctive look and a more mature character. The driver-oriented cabin attracts attention as the most spacious in its class. With larger, 325-liter payload capacity, the new Rio now allows automobile enthusiasts to carry more than before.

Equipped with new cabin technologies, safety systems and connectivity features, the New Rio is the most technologically-advanced version. The New Rio offers both Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ integration, and stands out with a first-in-its-class feature, the Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian recognition.

The New Rio comes with gasoline or diesel engine. Powered by KIA's latest three-cylinder 1.0-liter T-GDI (turbo gasoline direct injection) engines, the New Rio provides high efficiency and low emissions. The lightweight body of the new downsized T-GDI engine means that the Rio benefits from acute front handling with less mass and inertia at cornering. The fourth-generation New Rio will be available globally in the first quarter of 2017.

KIA Soul upgraded
KIA has also introduced a range of improvements to another of its best-selling models, the Soul. The upgraded version of Soul features a modernized exterior and interior, as well as new safety and infotainment technologies.

The upgraded Soul now offers revised front and rear bumpers with a metallic skid plate, LED daytime running lights, optional HID (high-intensity discharge) headlights, and KIA's signature “tiger-nose” grille. Automobile enthusiasts can choose from a range of colors and 10-spoke 16- and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheel designs.

The upgraded Soul offers unique cloth upholstery in the cabin, available in a single- or two-tone color pattern. The cockpit mechanism designed in new glossy black and metallic tones enhance the high-quality ambiance of the interior. Soul’s new orange interior design pack introduces orange-and-gray upholstery, gray stitching and orange highlights throughout the cabin. While existing design packs have been enhanced, its Urban Active feature emphasizes the vehicle's compact SUV character. The range of cosmetic enhancements include a glossy black finish on the front and rear wheel arches, and revisions to the body kit on the front and rear bumpers and side sills. The Red Zone pack offers automobile enthusiasts a set of red lights on the grille, front and rear bumpers and sills, as well as a red roof, and a small red rear spoiler.

Full smartphone integration
Automobile enthusiasts can choose from KIA’s 5, 7, or 8-inch color touchscreen infotainment interface. The new systems that provide smartphone-like touchscreen control over the audio-visual navigation system allow for full smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. While a new USB port added to the rear of the cabin allows back-seat passengers to charge their mobile devices, drivers enjoy the convenience of the new rain-sensing windscreen wipers. Models equipped with 7DCT feature a new Drive Mode Selector that provides steering assistance at varying levels depending on the driver’s preference. Adopting Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Soul provides for better all-round visibility and safety. KIA is already receiving orders from around the world for the upgraded Soul.

New 204 ps Soul SX
In addition to the updates to the Soul Range, KIA has launched its new Soul 'SX' version featuring a 204 hp and 1.6-liter T-GDI (turbo gasoline direct injection) engine. This is the most powerful Soul ever designed by KIA.

With the new T-GDI engine, Soul SX can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 200 kph. The engine transmits the power to the front wheels through KIA's advanced new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) which is only available on the SX model, and provides seamless gear changes and decisive acceleration at all speeds.

Soul SX features a new and unique design that offers a bolder front bumper and air intake grille, dual exhaust pipes, wider side sills and a unique 10-spoke, 18-inch aluminum alloy wheel design. The model features the T-GDI engine badge on the tailgate, a unique red Soul model logo, and highlights in red tones on the front bumper and side sills.

The SX offers a unique range of cabin colors with black cloth and leather upholstery with orange stitching, a D-shaped steering wheel, and a scheme of orange-tones throughout the cabin. Soul SX is now globally available on the automotive market.
