KIA RANKS NUMBER ONE IN AUTOMATIVE IN J.D. POWER REPORT
Having marked itself as a leader in design, quality and technology in the automotive industry, KIA continues to distinguish itself with significant successes. KIA surpassed 33 nameplates and ranked top in J.D. Power’s prestigious 2016 Initial Quality Study. This success marks a new height in KIA Motors’ history.
KIA is the first brand in 27 years to rise to the top in the rankings of its class. KIA’s rise to the top was driven by the outstanding performances of its Sportage and Soul models. KIA’s Rio, Cerato and Sorento models also ranked in the top three of their respective categories.
With a consistent growth over the past years, KIA’s U.S. sales have surpassed its annual sales target of 600,000 vehicles. KIA’s success in the market made a favorable impact on the brand’s performance in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study.
Now in its 30th year, the J.D. Power report analyzes responses from vehicle owners in 26 segments. The report bases on the vehicle owners’ evaluations reported within the first 90 days of ownership for driving experience, engine and transmission performance, and quality-related issues.
